AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

FROM SHASTA HIGH MUSIC PROGRAM:

It is with deep sadness that we must announce the cancellation of our 51st annual musical: Fiddler On The Roof. After 50 years of consistently entertaining the community and providing a quality extracurricular program for our students, this is a painful, yet necessary decision due to the pandemic sweeping our globe.

In an announcement to our students, the following information was shared by our Director:

“Because so many of you have given your heart and soul into this program, it’s difficult for me to share this with you. Though I have attempted to give our team every possible chance to pull off the show, after speaking to administration, we have no choice but to cancel.

I want all in the cast to know that I’m so happy that I got to be a part of some of those SPECIAL moments in rehearsal….Your commitment did not go unnoticed and I’m so proud of you all. “

– Mr. Spencer, SHS Choir Director

Fiddler on The Roof is a story that captures the essential human longing for love, community, success, freedom, family and meaning. We know that all of these words and the emotions they stir up mean so much more to us all at this time.

Over the course of the next few weeks, we plan to profile our cast on our Facebook and Instagram pages as well as the sponsors who have graciously decided to still support us financially. Please follow us on social media, watch for these posts, and honor these students and community sponsors when you see them in the future.

Stay safe at home. Count your blessings. We look forward to the day when we can fill the theatre with laughter, hugs, reunions, entertainment and applause.

GODSPEED.
