Shasta High School's choir program is directed by Mr. Gavin Spencer. The program includes five different choral groups: Troubadours (Beginning Men's), Nightingales (Beginning Women's), Choraliers (Advanced Women's), Acapella (Advanced Mixed) and Madrigals (Advanced Mix). The program is enhanced by state competitions, festivals, and Honor Choirs. The departments offers an opportunity for all choir students to audition for our Annual community Madrigal Dinner as well as our Spring Musical.
All choir students are invited to attend our annual choir trips: this includes music-focused trips to such places as San Francisco, Los Angeles and Portland area. Every three years we offer our major summer trip, which typically includes international touring. Fundraising opportunities for parents and students are continually offered to help offest the expenses.
Our Shasta High Choir Boosters is our non-profit arm of the Shasta High Choir curricular program. This parent-run organization supports us through volunteering for both the Madrigal Dinner and Musical events, fundraising and chaperoning of our annual trips. We invite all choir parents to participate as a way to connect to their student, the school and other parents and volunteers in the community. It is also a wonderful opportunity to accumulate funds towards your student's trips.
